Every summer, something happens at Mannford Church of Christ that is hard to fully describe until you have seen it. The building fills up. Children who did not know each other on Monday are fast friends by Wednesday. Adults who came to drop off a kid end up staying to help. There is something genuinely good about it, and this year we want every family in the Mannford area to be part of it.

Vacation Bible School 2026 runs June 29 through July 2. The theme is Disciple Me. And if you have a child, this invitation is for you.

What is Vacation Bible School?

If you have never been to a VBS, here is the simple version. It is a few evenings set aside specifically for children with Bible stories, activities, songs, and the kind of energy that comes when a room full of kids is having a good time while learning something that matters.

It is not a daycare program. It is not entertainment. It is an intentional time to help children connect with Scripture, with each other, and with the kind of faith that is meant to be lived out, not just learned about.

You do not need to be a member of our church to attend. You do not need any church background. If you have a child and you are looking for something meaningful to do with a few summer evenings, this is an open door.

VBS 2026 at Mannford Church of Christ

This year’s Vacation Bible School runs four evenings, June 29 through July 2, at Mannford Church of Christ, located at 104 Farrow Drive in Mannford, Oklahoma.

Each evening is designed to be welcoming, structured, and genuinely fun. Children will hear from Scripture, participate in activities centered on the theme, and spend time with teachers and volunteers who care about kids.

The theme this year is Disciple Me, a name that gets right to the point. We want children to leave each evening not just having heard about Jesus, but understanding what it means to follow Him.

Why discipleship is at the heart of VBS

Jesus did not just teach crowds. He walked alongside people. He invited them to follow, to watch, to learn, and eventually to go and do the same. That pattern, following closely, growing slowly, becoming more like the one you are following, is what discipleship means.

For children, learning that faith is something you live, not just something you know, can shape how they see everything. How they treat others. How they handle hard days. What they believe about their own worth before God.

In Matthew 18, Jesus places a child in the middle of a crowd of disciples and tells them the Kingdom of God belongs to people like this. He was not dismissing children. He was honoring them.

Disciple Me is built on that same conviction that children are not too young to begin learning what it means to follow Jesus, and that those early lessons matter more than we sometimes realize.

Who is VBS for?

VBS at Mannford Church of Christ is open to any child in the Mannford area. You do not have to be a church member. You do not have to have attended before. There is no dress code, no expectation, and no pressure.

If you are a family who has been curious about our church but has not yet visited, VBS is a natural and low-key way to see who we are. You will meet people who have been part of this community for decades, alongside families who are newer to Mannford. What you will find is a group of people who genuinely care about kids and want your family to feel welcome. Children are celebrated here. They are not an afterthought.

If you would like to join us for Sunday worship before or after VBS, we gather each week for Bible class at 9:30 AM and worship at 10:30 AM. The Wednesday evening Bible class meets at 6:00 PM.
