How Christians can support Mannford schools and teachers
By Robert Prater on September 11, 2025
At Mannford Church of Christ, we believe our schools are one of the greatest blessings in our community. Every day, teachers, administrators, and staff pour themselves into our children’s lives. Their hard work often goes unseen, but their impact lasts a lifetime.
As Christians, we’re called to recognize their value and actively support them. After all, children truly are the future, and investing in their education and spiritual health is one of the most important things we can do.
What God says about teaching
The Bible speaks highly of teaching and those who take on that responsibility. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Teachers play a vital role in shaping young hearts and minds, and their work reflects God’s call to guide the next generation.
Hebrews 13:17 also reminds us to respect and support those in authority: “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account.” When we show respect and encouragement to our school leaders, we reflect Christ’s love and model the right attitude for our children.
What we do as a church to support Mannford schools
As a congregation, we want our community to know that we love our schools and stand behind them. Over the years, we’ve taken simple but meaningful steps to care for both students and teachers:
- Providing winter gear: Each year, we collect and donate gloves and scarves to ensure that no student is left without warmth in the colder months.
- Christmas food boxes: During the holidays, we prepare food boxes for families in need so that every child can enjoy the season without worry.
- Meeting teacher needs: When a teacher shares a specific need—whether supplies or support—we do our best to step in and provide it quickly.
These are just small ways we try to live out our faith in service to others. And we’d love for you to partner with us in this effort.
What you can do as an individual
Supporting schools isn’t only about big projects—it’s about daily choices that show respect, gratitude, and love. Here are a few practical ways anyone can encourage Mannford teachers and students:
- Pray consistently for teachers, students, and administrators. Ask God to give them wisdom, patience, and strength.
- Speak kindly about schools and teachers—both in person and online. Social media comments are public, and your words can build up or tear down—model respect for your children by showing honor to their teachers.
- Encourage new teachers and administrators. Transitioning into a new role can be stressful. A kind word, a handwritten note, or a simple “thank you” can make a huge difference.
- Trust their good intent. Teachers dedicate their lives to helping children succeed. Choosing to see them through a lens of grace and trust strengthens the bond between schools and families.
Loving our schools
Supporting Mannford schools is one of the best ways to serve our community and live out our faith. When we come alongside teachers and students, we’re not just helping classrooms run more smoothly; we’re building a stronger, healthier, more Christ-centered community.
At Mannford Church of Christ, we remain committed to lifting up our teachers, cheering on our students, and being thoughtful toward our administrators. We truly love our schools, and we invite you to join us in praying, encouraging, and supporting the people who make Mannford schools such a blessing.
