Woman at Mannford Church of Christ

Come exactly as you are

By Robert Prater on April 24, 2025

Walking into a church for the first time can feel intimidating. Maybe you’re wondering if your clothes are right, your story is too messy, or your family situation fits some kind of mold. We get it — and we want you to know something very clearly:

You are welcome here, just as you are.

Whether you have tattoos, a complicated family situation, or feel like your life is a bit of a beautiful mess right now — you’re not alone. We believe the church isn’t a place for perfect people. It’s a hospital for the broken, a refuge for the weary, and a family for the searching.

At Mannford Church of Christ, you’ll find people from all walks of life. Some of us were born and raised right here in Mannford. Others are new to town, new to faith, or just trying to find solid ground again. What we all have in common is the desire to grow, serve, and love like Jesus — who never turned people away because of their past. In fact, some of His closest followers had complicated stories, too.

“But what should I wear to church?”

We often hear this question, so here’s the real answer: Whatever you’re comfortable in.

That said, if it helps ease your nerves:

  • Guys typically wear jeans and a polo or collared shirt. T-shirts are totally okay, too.
  • Ladies might wear a blouse and jeans, or a dress. But again, we have people wearing sneakers and sundresses, suits and sandals.

There’s no dress code here. You don’t need the “right” outfit to worship God or to walk through our doors. We care far more about your heart than your wardrobe.

So come as you are—whether that means dressing up or dressing down. What we’re really excited about is getting to know you, worshipping alongside you, and walking with you as we all grow in Christ.

What to expect

If you’re thinking about joining us for the first time, here’s a little of what to expect:

Our Sunday morning worship begins at 10:30 AM after Bible class at 9:30 AM for all ages. Whether you’re new to the Bible or have been studying it for years, we think you’ll find something meaningful in our time together.

Each Sunday, we sing acappella, pray, study the Word, and take communion. Everything we do is rooted in Scripture, and we try to keep things simple, welcoming, and sincere.

We also have Bible classes for kids and teens and a nursery available for little ones. Your children will be safe, loved, and taught the truths of God in a way that fits their age and stage.

You belong here

You don’t need a perfect family, a polished past, or all the answers to walk through our doors. You just need a willingness to show up — and maybe even be a little brave.

We know what it’s like to feel unsure or out of place. But here at Mannford Church of Christ, our arms and hearts are wide open. Whether you come once or make this your church home, we hope you’ll find a space where grace is abundant, truth is spoken in love, and community feels like family.

So bring your questions, your kids, your mess, your hope. You belong here.

Come exactly as you are — and let’s grow together.
